Black & Green Forum: Eating Healthy in Schools: Countering Nutricide @ Legacy Books
Black & Green Wednesday
FORUM: Eating Healthy in Schools: Countering Nutricide
WHEN: 7 pm, Wednesday August 6, 2008
WHERE: Legacy Books and Café, 5249 Delmar (near Union)
A panel discussion will include:
* Yasmine Ruiz-Smith, Green Party of St. Louis [moderator]
* Dr. Rosa Kincaid, Kincaid Medical Associates
* Linda McClerklin, Community Health Director, A Better World
* Afua Bromley, LAC, Universal Holistic Health Care
Food sold in supermarkets contributes to sickness. But are children being fed nutritious meals in schools?
Could food actually be interfering with children’s learning? Could it be contributing to behavior problems and delinquency?
Panelists will explain the types of diets that are healthy for children and adults. We will all discuss how to change corporate control of food so we can eat the way we should.
