Did the Army Cover Up Murder of a Black Private?
June 3, 2008 – St. Louis, Missouri.
LaVena Johnson, of Florissant, may be only 1 of over a dozen women to die under extremely suspicious circumstances while in Iraq and Afghanistan. The increase in violence against women in the military is so sharp that Dr. John Johnson, father of LaVena Johnson, is working with US Representatives Ike Skelton and Lacy Clay to have a Congressional hearing to request a reopening of the Army’s investigation of the death of LaVena Johnson.
Dr. Johnson recently went to Washington DC as a part of effort to get the case reopened. He will report on that trip at a press conference at

LaVena Johnson reportedly died in Iraq on July 19, 2005, days shy of her 20th birthday. The Army called it suicide. From the very beginning her family did not buy that story and new evidence suggests their suspicions could be well-founded.

(AP) Affirmative action foe Ward Connerly on Thursday brought his long-running campaign to Truman State University, where an overflow crowd alternately mocked and cheered his efforts in support of a November ballot initiative that would ban consideration of race in public hiring and college admissions.

The media at large has attempted to condemn the recent events in Kirkwood as an "inexcusable" act of a madman.
Questions how ever arise when we hear when reporters that can't even manage to prod a condemning statement out of the neighbors of the late Charles "Cookie" Thornton.
Many were the cries of racism against the city council, it is obvious to those with open minds that the events of February 7th are simply a case of "chickens came home to roost" so to speak.
Ward Connerly's "Super Tuesday for Segregation" Targets Missouri
Ward Connerly, that high profile opponent for affirmative action and Black water carrier for the new Jim Crow, has returned. He wants to eliminate affirmative action everywhere, and make a buck at the same time... Connerly's "Super Tuesday for Equal Rights" is an effort to promote ballot initiatives throughout the country that would eliminate tax dollars to affirmative action programs based on race and gender. He has targeted five states for this year's November ballot -- Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma -- all of which have relatively low numbers of people of color. In the absence of a determined and coordinated campaign to quash his efforts, he might succeed in taking us back to the future we know too well.

February 5th is an opportunity to return democratic government to our city. We can get all the signatures needed on February 5th to force a recall election of Francis Slay. I have been part of the recall effort for the past 6 months. Saturday after Saturday a group of us have gone out in north side wards getting signatures. We have 3 of the 19 wards needed.
If we have sufficient petitioners at the polling sites to handle the record turnouts expected, we will get the rest. In the targeted wards it doesn't take much persuading.

Well, we had one of those today, about a liquor store. The subhead: “As Rough-Hewn Area Goes Upscale, Merchant Shifts From Beer to Champagne.” What a merrily racist Christmas Eve ‘tis!
