For the past six years, "Bread & Roses" has served as an annual celebration
of the arts in political action and in the lives of workers. This year, Jobs
with Justice is seeking film submissions for the annual exhibition. "Bread
& Roses" was named for the labor hymn which reminds us, "Hearts starve as
well as bodies". This year's theme is "Condition Critical: Health Care in
America." The Films MUST reflect the thematic concept of health care.

Watching civil unrest and riots spreading nation to nation like a communicable disease raises some important questions. We do ourselves no favors by ignoring them.

The "African-American Heritage Festival Committee" (AAHFC) proudly presents the Third Annual "African American Heritage Festival" at the beautiful and refurbished Fairground Park. The city's Northside has always been and will always be the cultural base for the Black community. With many former Northside residents spread over the metropolitan area, we invite you all to this festivity because you are still members of this proud community.

Starting at 5pm: MAYDAY Vegetarian Potluck w/ music by The Tillers (Cinn, OH) & St. Louis' hybrid of Bad Folk, Theodore & The Rats & People.
Location: Black Bear Bakery, 2639 Cherokee St.

Then at 8:30pm: Mayday Marches on to C.A.M.P. for films on the Wobblies @ 8:30ish. $5 goes to musicians. Bakery will provide bread, hummus, coffee, tea & cookies. Please bring a salad, entre, or side dish to share.

countries such as Vietnam, Liberia, Cuba, and Afghanistan chose to
delve into issues of prejudice, racism and oppression, topics which
are very pertinent in their lives and in the city of St. Louis as a
whole, particularly in its public schools. The result of this
